en o zo toepasselijk nog zo afentoe.
Zó voel je je dus als je een dikke week NIETS kunt doen.
En dan bedoel ik ook werkelijk NIETS!!!
Niet fatsoenlijk afwassen, strijken, stofzuigen, haren kammen........en verreweg het ergste: niet quilten.
Oja, en alleen maar links typen...wat niet erg bevorderlijk is voor de wil tot communicatie..
en dat alles wegens een schouderblessure.

Oh wouldn't YOU like to curse when there is more than a week in which you cann't do anything at all.
imagine  NOTHING AT ALL!!!
no dishwashing,ironing, vacumcleaning, combing your own hair....and farout the worst; no quilting.
Oh and only lefthanded typing, which doesn't stimulate to do any communication.
and all of this because of a shoulder injury.

Deze ligt dus nog helemaal eenzaam te wachten tot ie bij zijn collegahexjes wordt gevoegd

That makes this one waiting all alone untill he gets joined with his collegue hexagons.

Tja, en dan ga je andere dingen doen om toch je tijd te vullen.
Rare dingen zoals het hele internet afsurfen om toch nét dat ene stofje te vinden dat goed past bij de rest.
Heeft toch nog met quilten te maken, niet dan?????
en je krijgt nog eens opbeurende post op de koop toe

wie goed kijkt ziet dat het een aanvulling is op de twee stoffen uit mijn vorige logje.
door volharding en hulp uit een wel heel onverwachte hoek ben ik nu nog in afwachting van twee bijpassende bruine stoffen.
Mooie serie vind ik het, het is uit de metropolis collectie van marcus fabrics.
En wat ik ervan ga maken???
Laat ik wel zien als de bruintjes er ook zijn, en nee Tertia, het is niet de dear jane.
Want hoewel ik respect heb voor de mensen die al dat werk op zich nemen voor het maken van een dear jane,of nearly insane of dergelijke, het is niet mijn ding.
In het begin vond ik ze wel mooi, maar sinds ik ze blok voor blok tegenkom op honderden blogs ben ík er een beetje op uitgekeken.
Hoewel ik afentoe nog even verrast wordt door eentje met  een heel aparte kleurcombinatie.

through persistance and some help from an unexpected corner I'm now pending for some brown fabrics from this serie.
it's a great collection, this metropolis from marcus fabrics.

I will show you when the brown fabrics have arrived.
Someone thought it was the dear jane but it isn't.
I respect all those people who are doing all that work to make a dear jane or a nearly insane or so but it really isn't my thing!
At first I liked them, but since I bump into block after block on hundreds of blogs I'm a bit tired of them, sorry.
So once in a while I find one in amazing colours that strike me , but not enough to start one myself,

beats me........I've got some other things to make first.

het hele kleine beetje dat ik gedaan heb aan quilten was deze bies aanzetten.
pppfffff, wat een saai werk vind ik dat.
Er wordt weleens gevraagd wat je het meest vervelend vind aan het maken van een quilt.
Ik antwoordde dan altijd, het dubbelen, maar sinds het tijdperk van de microstitch en de tags is dat ook niet meer zo.
Maar waar ik toch echt werkelijk een hekel aan heb is het afbiezen van de quilt.
Niet het maken van de bies zelf, niet het aanzetten met de machine, maar dan.....
al die meters met de hand tegennaaien...ik doe het al zoveel mogelijk voor de tv, maar dan nog.....
iemand een idee hoe het minder saai kan?????

I worked a little on my quilts.
started the binding on one.
pppppffffff, so boring..........
sometimes people asked what you hate the most when working on a quilt.
I used to say: the sandwiching, but since the era of the tags and the microstich I don't mind that anymore.
But the one and only thing I hate about quilting is the binding.
preparing the binding isn't an issue, neither sewing it on the front by machine, but then after that.....
sewing it to the back by hand.....all those yards to sew.....I do as much as  possible in front of the tv but still.......
So boring!!!!!!
Anyone an idea to make it more thrilling????

warrige week

je hebt zo van die weken.....
Helemaal gevuld met leuke en minder leuke dingen.
Maar wel gewoon vol!!!
Dus worden dingen opzij geschoven......blog, quilten, prikbord enz.
En dan ineens is zo'n week voorbij en kun je de draad weer oppakken.

You've got those weeks......
Totally filled with great and less great things.
But just all filled up!!!!
So you neglect persons and things like blog, quilting, forum etc.
And then......at once...such a week is gone and you start being active again.

Kijk....dit heb ik toch alweer mooi voor mekaar gehext!!!

En ik kreeg eindelijk de goede kleur stof binnen voor de quilt voor mijn schoonzus.

Nu ben ik dus wel dik  tevreden met de combinatie!!



I've got the fabric I wanted for my SIL quilt.
I'm very satisfied now about the combination of colours!!!

Ze zijn meestal wat langzaam met bezorgen maar ik kreeg deze week weer wat boeken van mijn favoriete boekhandel op internet.
Kan ik tenminste weer op zoek naar iets moois om in de toekomst te maken.
Want stel je voor dat mijn inspiratie ineens opdroogt....valt er meteen geen land meer met me te bezeilen natuurlijk........
Dit risico is nu ineens flink minder geworden

They're a bit slow with shipping but they still are my favorite bookshop on the internet, and I've got these this week.
I can start searching for beautiful projects for the  near future now.
Could be my well of inspiration runs dry .......and that's bad for my behaviour.....
And now there's something to keep me going on when that happens!!

Trouwens, over toekomst gesproken....dit is het begin van een toekomstige quilt.....meer erover als alle stoffen binnen zijn....

de hoek om..............

Ik kan het maar niet laten......
Wil steeds weer verder gaan met mijn tweets, maar vind mijn hexjes toch ook zó leuk om te doen!!!!!!
Ondanks het handwerk schiet het nu toch al wel lekker op, ik heb het ritme te pakken geloof ik.
Beetje saai voor jullie lezers, maar ik vind het heerlijk werken zo.
Ik ben zelfs al de hoek om gegaan........uuuuuuuhhhh, mijn hexjes dus ;-)
En ze zijn zó levensecht, dat kaya erdoor bedwelmd werd.......

I cann't leave it alone.......
I want to go with my tweets but I like my hexagons that much, that I want nothing else then working on them!
And although it's handwork, it's going on very fast.......I've got the rythm I think!!!!!
Maybe a bit boring for the readers here but I love it!!!!
I even turned the corner....ah well, my hexagons did.
And they're looking that real that Kaya got all stunned.

Gelukkig kreeg ik nét voor het weekend nog een nieuwe voorraad lijm binnen.
Hoef ik niet bang te zijn dat ik stil kom te liggen........

Fortunately I got my refills of glue just before the weekend.
I don't need to be afraid now that I have to stop working on it for a while.........

En deze viel nog in de bus........

Wel leuk, maar ik had gedacht dat er nog twee andere quilts en een rugzakje instonden.
Ik heb me dan zeker vergist........in veldhoven heb ik een boek ingekeken waar oa. twee japanse poppen en de eerder genoemde quilts instonden, maar in deze staan alleen maar de twee poppen.
En andere dingen die niet helemaal mijn smaak zijn....een beetje jammer dus.
Maar als er iemand weet waar het patroon instaat van een japanse quilt waarin een soort stepstones staan hoop ik dat ie even reageert.
Als ik de foto ervan weer terugvind ga ik verder op mijn zoektocht.

This book arrived also.
It's a kind of nice but I expected some other patterns in there, from two japanese quilts and a backpack.
I probably made a mistake.......in veldhoven I looked into a book, which I thought it was this, there were two japanese dolls in it and the quilts I just told...but this one only has te dolls.
And ofcourse other things that I don't like that much........a pity it is.
But if there is anyone who knows what book it is were the japanese quilt with the steppingstones is in...I love to hear from you!!
When I find a photograph of it I go on searching.........

tis weer voorbij......

Het weekje vakantie van DH is weer voorbij.
Vandaag zijn eerste werkdag gehad.....en dat betekent dat ik ook weer moet wennen aan een huis zonder man overdag!!!
Daar heb ik best wel een beetje moeite mee...tis best wel gezellig zo hele dagen met zijn tweetjes.....

DH's holidayweek is over.
Today was his first days work again....and that means I have to get used to a manless house again during daytime!!!
I always hate that.........it's so cosy spending every single day together.......


Ondanks dat we nogal eens op stap waren die dagen heb ik toch kunnen doorwerken aan mijn hexjes

De eerste rand is nu bijna klaar.........

In spite of the days we went off shopping and visiting I still had some time left to work on my hexes.
Now the first border is almost finished!!!!!

Ik heb met mijn grote mond weer iemand een quilt beloofd.........alleen deed ik eerst de belofte en hoorde toen pas dat het om een twéépersoonsquilt gaat.
Nou had ik mezelf eigenlijk beloofd om nóóit meer zo'n grote quilt te maken, maarja......een gegeven woord.....
Dus op zoek naar stoffen...een beetje beperkt in kleuren om het niet té kostbaar te maken.
En deze week kwamen ze binnen...

De bovenste zijn voor een andere quilt.
Helemaal tevreden ben ik niet....de goudgele kleur vind ik iets té fel.
Kan gebeuren....deze heb ik via internet besteld en ik twijfelde al bij de foto, maar in het écht istie iets feller zelfs.
Nu zijn er mensen die meteen opspringen en roepen dat je ook niet via internet moet bestellen, maar daar ben ik het niet mee eens.
In al die jaren is het pas de tweede keer dat een kleur me ietwat tegenvalt....en ik ken massa's verhalen van mensen die "gewoon" in een winkel kopen, thuis komen en dan toch niet helemaal blij zijn met hun keuze.
Ik heb inmiddels een yard wat gedektere goudkleur besteld, hoop dat ie deze week binnenkomt uit amerika, want natuurlijk wilde ik gisteren al beginnen eraan hihihihihi.....

Me and my big mouth!!!
I promised someone to make her a quilt...but it was till after I made the promise that I heard it was about a double bed quilt.
Now I told myself I never would make such a big quilt again....but a promise is a promise,......
So I went surfing for fabrics......not to much colours to keep the price a bit down.
This week the fabrics arrived from america.The fabric on the top is for another quilt.
I'm not totally satisfied, the yellow-gold is a bit too bright I think.
I already had my doubts by the picture of it, but I took the risk....and lost....
Now there will be people saying I should't buy from the internet,I don't agree  it's only the second time in al these years that I dislike the colour of a fabric.
And I know loads of story's from people who bought in a regular shop, came home and then had their doubts and went back to buy another fabric....
I already ordered a yard of less bright golden fabric, I hopes it arrives this week fron america because ofcourse I wanted to start this new quilt yesterday already hhihihihiihih

Ik heb trouwens nóg iets leuks gekocht ( vind ik) bij een grote supermarktketen....

Tis eigenlijk bedoeld als boodschappentasje voor kinderen..maar kijk eens naar die opdruk

Een kind van drie heeft hier geen nostalgische gevoelens bij............een vrouw van 52 wel!
Ik vind het een schitterend tasje voor het vervoeren van kleine naaibenodigdheden ed

I bought this one in a big supermarket.
It is in fact a shoppingbag for little children.
But I adore the print on it.
A three year old won't have any nostalgic feelings for it...but a 52 year old has!!!!!!
I want to use it as a bag to take little sewingnotions with me whem I'm going "out" sewing.

Hadden we de afgelopen tijd erg mooi weer....vandaag spookte het toch wel goed hier in limburg.
Fien woont gelukkig hoog maar er zijn mensen met minder geluk

The last weeks we really had beautiful summery weather......but today it was less good.
Thankfully Fien lives up high and dry, but other people were less lucky!

Deze week kreeg ik bezoek van een vriendin.
Zij en haar man hebben al ver gevorderde plannen om naar amerika te emigreren.
Ze zijn pas geleden nog in monterey geweest en daar heeft ze nog even aan mij gedacht!!!!

En een mooie quilts staan daarin!!!!!!

Ik heb er alweer een paar toegevoegd aan mijn lijst!!!!!

Stiekem ben ik een beetje jaloers op hen............

This week a couple of friends came to visit us.

They have well advanced plans for emigrating to america.

Not so long ago they were in monterey and there she even thought of me!!!!

great quilts are in this magazines!!!!!!

I'm sure I'm gonna make some of them!!!!!

Wow...going to the quilting walhalla !!!!!

In fact ....  I envy them!!!!!!!
